• Where is the store based?

• I don't get it... how do you make jewelry out of books?

  We laser cut and etch each piece ourselves. We use hardcover books and cut directly through the cover to "mine" our pieces. The final product has also been coated with a layer of clear acrylic for protection.

  Laser cutters are computer operated, which allows us to get quite a bit of detail. As every book is slightly different, and reacts differently to the laser, the jewelry that comes from each book is often one of a kind.
  
  Some pieces require etching to create the design. You can feel the slight difference in depth where the colors change. Pieces like the Anatomical Heart were cut from books with a plain solid-color cover, and then the design was etched into it. Other pieces, like the Keys, reveal illustrations or text from the original book’s cover.

• How do I care for the jewelry?

  Each piece should be handled with care, especially when in the hands of anyone below the age of 10.
  
  If your piece becomes dirty, feel free to wipe it off with a damp sponge. Make sure that as much water as possible has been squeezed out before applying it to the item in question. The jewelry is water resistant, but not waterproof!

  If your piece gets wet- don't worry! Try to touch it as little as possible while it is wet. Let it air-dry, and it should be back to normal in a day or two!

• Where do the books come from?

  We discover our books at thrift stores, garage sales, and library sales.The goal is to use books that are unwanted, irrelevant, or falling apart.

• How long will it take to receive my order?

  Orders usually ship 1-5 days after purchase. Custom pieces will take a little longer- up to 10 days (as we have to design and also make it for you). Once shipped most domestic orders take anywhere from 2 to 7 business days to arrive. International shipping delivery times may vary between 2 and 12 weeks.

• Do you accept orders placed outside of the US?

  We sure do!
